SMC Alumni Celebrates School’s 100 Years of Noble Beginnings

Reaching the 100 years existence by any entity calls for a celebration- not just for its longevity, but for its endurance and consistency in delivering services to the community.
On the 26th day of September, alumni from the different departments of SMC attended the alumni day celebration. The festivities started with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Danny M. Garay, DCT in the parish church at 8:00 o’clock in the morning. Thereafter, was the town parade participated by batches with the float of the SMC Alumni Centennial Queen 2015 and the beautiful muses by decade. After the parade, an assembly took place at the school’s sports court.
During the afternoon of the day, Career Guidance Symposium was conducted to the grade 10 students of the high school at the MCCC to prepare them for the senior high school. The speakers were Mrs. Gina Usi-Urquia, Education Program Supervisor, Division of City Schools Muntinlupa City and Sister Felicitas Bernardo, SPC.
At 6:00 o’clock in the evening, alumni from the different decades gathered once more for the Alumni Night. Dinner and program took place. The coronation of SMC Alumni Centennial Queen, Ms. Gina Gascar Orozco of high school batch ‘78 by Atty. Aquino F. Ambray and Mrs. Emma M.Blanco was a significant part of the program. The night was a great opportunity for the alumni to reminisce their high school and college days. Music was everywhere. The school quadrangle was filled with fun and laughters. Everybody enjoyed dancing, singing and taking pictures with their friends. At exactly 12:00 o’clock in the evening, everyone witnessed the fireworks display that lasted for almost an hour. The night was filled with friendship and love. It was a time for the alumni to enjoy one another’s company and roam around the SMC campus once again.
The SMC Alumni celebration successfully ended leaving another unforgettable memory to the hearts of every Michaelinian.
