September 8 is a very special day to all Catholics because it is the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The birth of the Blessed Mother is significant to mankind because she was responsible for bringing to the world, our redeemer, the son of the Most High, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Paulinian journous all over the Philippines converged at Saint Paul College Pasig (SPCP), Pasig City for the 11th SPC Campus Journalism Fellowship – Paulink: The Paulinian Ink on April 5 – 8, 2016. The event focused on the theme: “Journalized: The Gen Z Paulinian Journo in the Screenage.”
Thirty one (31) Michaelinian writers – 10 from the grade school and 21 from high school represented Saint Michael College (SMC) to the fellowship together with their coaches, Mr. Nico Michael D. Huelma, Ms. Louvanne Jessa D. Orzales and Ms. Merlyn E. Lao-ay.
Paulinians from different schools throughout the Philippines gathered once again at Saint Paul College Pasig (SPCP), Pasig City for the four-day SPC Nat’l Leadership Congress anchored on the theme: “Meaningful and Inspiring Action for the Paulinian Gen Z Leader” held last March 31 to April 3, 2016.
Thirty one (31) students represented Saint Michael College (SMC) – 10 from the grade school and 21 from the high school. Mr. Nico Michael D. Huelma, Ms. Louvanne Jessa D. Orzales and Ms. Merlyn E. Lao-ay accompanied the delegates.
The Michaelinians offered special intensions during the Holy Spirit Mass on June 21, 2016 at 8:00 o’clock in the morning at the Immaculate Conception Parish Church.
The mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Godofredo Quiazon, Jr., DCT. Everyone raised their hearts and voices in praising God as they called the Holy Spirit for guidance during the whole school year’s journey.
Cantilan’s grandeur and beauty was once again displayed when it successfully celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of our Lady to Heaven on August 15. This year’s celebration focused on the theme, “One People, One Destiny, One Strong Community” with series of activities done that made the occasion fruitful and meaningful.
“New Spirit and New Fervor towards another Century of Passionate Shepherding” was the theme during the 101st Foundation Day celebration of Saint Michael College, Cantilan. The festivities started on the evening of September 22 at 6:00 o’clock with the Dinner for a Cause sponsored by the SMC Alumni Association and the Disco Concert for a Cause at 8:00 o’clock sponsored by the High School Silver Jubilarians, Batch 1991. The merriment took place at the vast sports court of SMC.
The Grand Alumni Homecoming of the high school and college graduates of Saint Michael College was held last September 24, 2016 with the theme, “Remembering the Past, Steering the Present towards a Better Future. The gathering was part of the school’s 101st Foundation Anniversary Celebration and was hosted by HS Batch 1991 and HS Batch 1966.
The SMC Alumni Association sponsored Dinner for a Cause on September 23, 2016 at 6:00 o’clock in the evening held at the SMC Sports Quad. The event which was in line with the school’s 101st Founding Anniversary was attended by some alumni, SMC friends and the school’s administration, faculty, staff and some students. The purpose of the activity was to raise funds as support for the coming Golden Anniversary celebration of the college department in 2017.
